Part 13: Setting up Windows Sharing for Master Database Configuration

Press Start- All Programs-Focus-Utilities-Database Location

Untick the “Master database is the local database” as below.

Click on the Locate button on the Master database section.

Now type in the name of the computer the Master Database is positioned on e.g., POS1.

We find it is better to use a naming convention rather than using the IP Address as the hostname stays the same, but the IP Address may change.

Click on the OK button and click the TEST button.

Information dialog indicating Master database connection successful will show.

Do this step on each computer the Focus is loaded on.
