PART 12: Configuring the Master Database

It's important to note that Generally for a Multi-Site Setup that there are Local Firebird Databases kept on each device. To ensure the Journal and Settings in Forecourt Manager are carried across the PCs.

Trax Retail normally set one of these databases as the Master Database. With the others onsite being the slaves.

To review or create this type of setup you need to ensure:

1. The PCs need to be able to ‘See’ each other in the windows environment.
2. The Firebird Ports have been allowed in through the Firewall. (See PART 4)

Once this is Complete.

Navigate to the PC you would like to be the Master Database.

On this PC Go to:

32Bit C:\Program Files\POSTEC\Focus\DatabaseLocationUtility.exe

OR

64Bit C:\Program Files (x86)\POSTEC\Focus\DatabaseLocationUtility.exe

Run the Application as an Administrator. This will appear on the screen. Check that the Tick Box “Master database is local database” is ticked this is the master. 

Click the test button.

The Master Database is now configured.
