Problem:
When pressing a valid Stock Item button in the POS screen, the message Stock Item Not Found displays, or the Stock Item Search screen displays with a 0 or other invalid in the search field:
Another symptom will be when entering a scan code in POS, the message This Stock Item has been discontinued displays, even though the Stock Item has not been discontinued
Cause:
Normally, this message displays if a Stock Item button has been created, and then the Stock Item has been deleted.
However, if you check and the Stock Item does exist in the list, this message could be displaying because Programmable Barcodes are being used, and the Stock Item Code begins with the prefix set for the Programmables.
Solution:
If using Programmable Barcodes, the prefix used should then not be used as the starting digit(s) of other Stock Item Codes.
