Pocket Stock (Stock Manage) Troubleshooting

General information for troubleshooting Pocket Stock / Stock Manage issues

- information is written to the Activity Log
- data uploaded from the app is stored in XML files in the \ProgramData\Idealpos Solutions\Idealpos\ folder
- info is written to the POSServerClient.log
- stock items must be ticked for Stock Control to be downloaded to Pocket Stock / Stock Manage

Issue cannot be reproduced:

If there is an issue with downloading data, but no errors are occurring at the time or in the Pocket Stock log, and the issue cannot be reproduced when using the customer database locally:

- Do they have any policies setup on their network to restrict devices from communicating with each other? (There's an option on some Wi-Fi networks that prevent devices from communicating with each other).
- If there are any Firewalls setup in the router or otherwise, there should be some kind of logging they can refer to in order to see what is being blocked at the time of the unsuccessful download.
- Another idea to isolate from the environment is to add the POS Terminal to a Wi-Fi hotspot from a phone, then join the mobile device running Pocket Stock to the same hotspot and get them to try again. If it works, this will confirm that the issue is related to their network.
