Cash and Accrual - an explanation

Cash or Accrual Accounting is selected in Global Options > Miscellaneous > Financial > GST Accounting.

When Cash is selected, GST is calculated when the account payment is made. Because of this, unallocated payments are disabled, as there is no way of determining how much GST will be collected (for GST or GST-Free item) at the time that the unallocated payment is made.

This selection is made in Global Options > Miscellaneous > Financial > GST Accounting. Idealpos should be closed and re-opened if this setting is changed. Note that this setting cannot be changed if there are current outstanding balances on Account Customers.
