429-ActiveX Component error
Problem:
429-ActiveX component can’t create object error when Idealpos starts. It occurs just after the splash screen message Initializing Ideal Kitchen Monitor Interface displays.
Solution:
Re-register IKM.API.dll with .NET: from a Command prompt, go to the folder where the IKM.API.DLL file is located, and then type:
c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\regasm IKM.API.DLL /tlb/codebase
if an Automation error occurs when starting Idealpos after applying the fix above, this was fixed on one site by moving the IKM.API.DLL file into the Idealpos 6.0 folder.
Note that the 429-ActiveX component can’t create object error can occur for other reasons; check the Idealpos logs for more specific information, as this fix may not apply
